On Saturday morning, I left the house for a short workout. The sky was gray and overcast, but the storms were supposed to miss us. Well... they came with a bang, literally. In a matter of minutes, the wind picked up and rain drops were falling. The next thing I knew, I heard an electric buzzing, saw a flash, and dove for my life (I have scrapes and bruises to prove it). By the grace of God, these two trees fell on either side of me and hit the power lines. I am VERY thankful to be alive, and thankful that I had my cell phone with me. The pictures below were taken about two hours after the storm passed.
After my dear husband rescued me, we came home to a flooded cul-de-sac (pictures below). We had gotten so much rain in a short period of time, the drain was blocked with leaves and grass clippings. With a rake and a little bit of patience, we were able to clear the drain, get the water moving, and drive back into the driveway. It was a lot of water!
Needless to say, it was an interesting morning. Here's to sunny and blue skies the rest of the week!
