Door County

I'm a little behind on blogging.  I guess that's the way it goes sometimes. Between painting our master bedroom and weekend trips to Wisconsin, there has been little free time lately when we've been home.  But we've managed to some fun now and then too. :)

We spent the last part of our Wisconsin tour in Door County.  I love this part of the state - the sparkling water of Lake Michigan, trails, quaint shops and inns, apple orchards, wineries, and so much more.  It is a great little getaway.  It was quiet since school was back in session but so very refreshing to just hop in the car, explore, and spend time with my husband.  The leaves were even starting to change which made us even more excited for fall!  Door County has been called the Cape Cod of the Midwest, and if you are looking for a weekend getaway, we would totally recommend it.  Request their Visitor's Guide sent directly to your home by going to http://www.doorcounty.com/plan-your-trip/visitor-guide and start planning your weekend away today! :)

One of the things we would not suggest - Fish Boil.  They are a Door County tradition, but Matt and I thought it was gross.  Worst $50 we ever spent. Haha. At least we could laugh about it during and after dinner.  Make sure you actually like fish before you try it out.

Go Pack Go!

On our tour of Wisconsin, we had the opportunity to attend the season opener at Lambeau thanks to Matt's mom winning 10 club suite tickets!  It had been way too long since we had been at Lambeau, and it was a beautiful afternoon and evening to take in a great game.

We indulged on the desserts.

The Northwoods

The last few weeks have been busy.  We've had six friends or family members move far away in recent weeks, and man do we miss them!  The house is now quieter without my sister around, and we are trying to take time and slow down.

Fortunately, we planned to spend an entire week in Wisconsin, and we have been LOVING every minute of it so far.  On Friday we headed to the Northwoods to spend time at one of my favorite places - Three Lakes.  We soaked it all in and are loving this fall-like weather - the fresh air, pleasant but crisp weather, friday fish fry, ice cream shop, winery, bike rides, curling up with good books, campfire, smores, and the outdoors.  Monday/Tuesday brought us to Minocqua, WI where we met and spent time with Matt's parents.

Here's a glimpse of our extended weekend in the Northwoods.
