Austria // Overnight Layover in Chicago

Austria Posts

The flights we had purchased back in May left from Chicago, so the night before departure we flew to the Windy City. It happened to be Adam's birthday so a celebration was in order!

Upon check in at the hotel on Michigan Avenue, there was a surprise in store. The staff at the front desk told us we were in for a sweet suite room as they handed us the keys. So up to the top floor we went.

Our double bed room - booked on points - was upgraded to the Presidential Suite! It was huge; the largest hotel room I have been in with quite the view.

The living room overlooked Michigan Avenue.

There was a  kitchen.

A dining room.

And my favorite area, a patio with incredible city views, including the Willis Tower and a Chase branch.

The two bedrooms had huge windows.

So we climbed on Kristina and I's bed to enjoy the views and take a classic foot shot.

After we were done admiring the room and face timing Matt, we made our way to Lou Malnati's for a late birthday dinner.

Best. Deep Dish. Ever.

Happy 27th birthday to the pizza connoisseur!

We went to bed, stomachs full and curtains open, enjoying the sparkling city lights as we fell fast asleep. Come morning, the views were just as good.

And we eased our way into the day before the flight across the pond.

That surprise and room upgrade will never be forgotten.
