Andrea and Dustin are back from Asia for the summer and have been living with us for the past three weeks. We have been blessed with some sweet family time this month and took a little getaway to Door County - the thumb of Wisconsin with a brief visit in our hometown. Recently, we have learned that apparently Michiganders also claim that their state is the state with the thumb or mitten, but we still don't see it. WI>MI. :)
A family walk down Kramer Road on a beautiful summer evening. A lot of memories on this dirt road. This is where Matt told me he loved me and where he attempted to teach me to drive the beloved Geo.
Matt found this VRBO outside of Sturgeon Bay. It was quite lovely, spacious and reasonable for the six of us. Evenings were spent relaxing, laughing, playing games, and enjoying one another's company.
In true Kramer fashion, we managed to eat a lot as well.
We drove along the entire peninsula and stopped at our leisure along the way. Whitefish Dunes State Park is always one of my favorite places. White sand. Clear water. Pure sunshine.
A lot of coffee was consumed on this trip. As for me, I stuck with my iced Chai.
Dustin and Andrea were excited to visit the Christmas store.
And Marty really wanted a picture taken with an ice cream shop in the background. Unfortunately, the sign didn't get in the shot...
A stop of Wilson's! Somehow I've developed a serious love and sweet tooth for ice cream the past couple of years (thanks Papa :)). The blueberry crunch ice cream was amazing.
Of course no trip to Wisconsin is complete without a stop for cheese.
Until next time DC!
