For the past week, it has become a part of our regular routine to have backyard animal visitors. Not going to lie, we absolutely love it! I end up turning off all the lights to not bother them, and we peer out the windows to watch the deer 15 feet away. A couple of minutes into watching these peaceful animals, Matt usually decides to start making gun shot noises (I know right? It’s like he’s 12 again). At that point, the deer usually look up at us, I beg him to stop, and the deer continue on with what they were doing before he interrupted their evening. Nothing seems to phase these suburban deer. I think they are almost as intrigued by us as we are with them at times. Who would have thought we would be this excited about deer outside our windows? The first night or two, we were so excited, we actually called our parents to let them know the good news! Haha. Perhaps we have been away from the county a little too long…or maybe it’s because country deer never come close to the house. Either way, these backyard visitors are photogenic (if only my photography skills were better). Below are some backyard images I’ve managed to snap late summer/fall and this past week. Enjoy!

Beautiful! At first I named our Silverthorn deer "Sausage" & "Chops" But their big brown eyes have won me over this winter, I'm not calling them that anymore. They are so pretty. Until they eat my flowers, then they might get their names back.
ReplyDeleteEspecially love the "morning visit to the bedroom window" pic. How sweet.
