Tis the Season...

for GRILLING!  It seems as though spring has finally arrived and with it, comes our obession with grilling, fresh flowers, and spring cleaning.  Matt was so excited to fill up the propane tank yesterday and called up a few different gas stations to get the best price before proudly filling up the tank.  Meanwhile, as the fresh air blew through the open windows, I went about the house keeping occupied with things to do and savoring the smell of springtime.

Our friends Jared & Skyler Johnson and Nick Olson joined us for dinner to officially kick off the grilling season.  While the boys talked over budgets, insurance, and Roth IRAs, Skyler and I enjoyed some much-needed girl time, prepping kabobs, and snapping pictures along the way.  There's something about marinated fresh vegetables and meat kabobs that make my mouth water.  Yum!  I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!  Now, a night wouldn't be complete without a game of Settlers, so we sprawled out in the living room for a little bit of relaxation and competition.  It was a fun evening and a perfect way to end the weekend and begin a new week!

The boys posed nicely for Skyler and I to take a picture pictures.
Anyone spot anything out of place in this picture?
Yes, those are patio chairs around the dining room table.
We still haven't found dining chairs so for now, patio chairs will do.  :)
For those interested, the Super Secret Marinade Recipe is below.  I recieved it from one of my good friends back home, and it has become a Kramer favorite.

1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 packet zesty italian dressing mix
2 tablespoons apple cider or white vinegar
2 tablespoons honey

Mix together ingredients well.  Marinate veggies and/or meat for 2-3 hours.

We were so glad to have escaped what is hopefully the last snowstorm of the year and to come back to beautiful spring weather in Minnesota.  More about and pictures of our Hawaii trip soon.  For now, we are still struggling to adjust to the time change and life back home.

  2. We had such a great time together! Thanks again for the delicious meal and enjoyable game. I told Skyler on the way home, Amanda should have won about a half hour before the game was over.
