Summer. It's here! As a life update, here are some things we have been enjoying lately...
Making a summer bucket list.
Roasted vegetables. (Especially broccoli roasted with olive oil, sea salt, garlic or to change it up adding a little lemon juice and fresh parmesan)
Apples and almond butter.
After a 17 day work stretch, making meals and being home for dinner in the evenings.
Rhubarb! Crisp. Muffins. And freezing it to use later.
Biking to and from work.
Running.
Hanging laundry to dry.
Country music.
These 50 Promises cards. They are helping me to memorize scripture and dwell on His promises.
Reading Keep a Quiet Heart by one of my favorite authors, Elisabeth Elliot.
Listening to Rend Collective's latest album The Art of Celebration. I still prefer the Campfire album, but it is Rend, and all of their music is good.
Garage sales. Somehow the money I save on gas commuting to work is going to garage sale finds. Last week I bought a late 1800's antique sewing table with a ruler on top and mini casters. Could not pass it up.
Kayaking.
Peaches.
Picnics.
Titus 2. I am in a homemaking group through church. It has become one of my favorite nights of each month. So far we have made chicken broth and roasted a chicken, pesto, and chalkboard frames and learned about spices, woodworking, setting a table. We have some fun things planned for the rest of the year too. I love doing things like this by myself at home, but it is more enjoyable to do so in the company of other women!
Sherlock Season 3 is out! I will not have time to watch it for a while, but I look forward to seeing the episodes eventually.
Finalizing plans for an upcoming adventure with M's sister and her husband.
We hope you are finding time to rest, relax, and adventure a bit this summer.
