Merry Christmas! We are eagerly anticipating Christmas Eve Service at church this evening and celebrating the good news of great joy with our church family. It is our first Christmas at home together, and although we will miss celebrating with our families, it is nice to be home for the holidays and slow down instead of rush around.
Today, I got to be a stay-at-home wife for the day while Matt went off to work. It was glorious! The house is picked up. Dinner (Taco Soup) is in the crock-pot. Dishes are done. And I got to spend the day in my sweatpants, Smart Wool socks, and apron...
Baking! Most of the time, I really don't enjoy baking nor have the time to do so, but being a stay-at-home wife meant I had the whole day! So I baked (and ate along the way):
The husband just came home and had a taste-test. He did say they were missing gluten and sugar, but otherwise I think they passed his approval (we'll see what Tex thinks later). My favorites are the homemade peanut butter cups and thin mints.
Christmas cards were dropped in the mail yesterday (and even a few today). Nothing like last minute, but we wish you much grace and joy this Christmas and in 2014.
