Cabin Weekend

Last year, in early November we spent a relaxing cabin weekend in the Wisconsin Northwoods with our friends Jared & Skyler. It was so refreshing and restful that we decided to make it an annual getaway.

This year's retreat did not disappoint. Fresh air. Crisp weather. Stillness all around. Hearts overjoyed. Stomachs full. A visit to the winery. A walk through the woods. Finding a field to frolic in and stand in amazement at the beauty all around and the One who created it. Snow! Evergreen & Birch Trees. The vibrant rust-colored Tamarack trees. Cozying up in the cabin. Flannel Sheets. Conversations around the campfire. Continuous Would You Rather Questions. Laughter. The joy of friendship. Thankful.

We cooked and we ate: Pumpkin Spiced Muffins. Scrambled Eggs. Chai Tea Lattes. Coffee. Spiced Cider. Chili & Maple Cornbread. Bacon Wrapped Dates. Steak. Sweet Potatoes with Rosemary & Pecans. Apple Cake. Broccoli Cheese Quinoa Soup. Ciabatta Rolls. Pumpkin Pancakes.

Ventured a little further north to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and stood amazed at the rushing water and beauty of Bond Falls.

Thank you so much Papa & Grandma for letting us stay at the cabin. It was exactly what we needed and such a blessing.

*Skyler put together a fun video of pictures from the weekend that can be viewed here or here.
