Back Where We Come From...

We went home last weekend to celebrate the Kaiser Grandparents' 50th Anniversary and Karissa's 19th birthday too.  Hard to believe my baby sister is 19 already!  We love our trips home.  Every time we go home, we find ourselves reminiscing along the way and missing it a little bit more each time; it's become harder to leave.  We love seeing our families/friends and the country.

Saturday morning, I had a cooking date with my Grandma Southworth.  We baked her famous cut-out sugar cookies using my favorite Halloween cookie cutters.  It has been a tradition to do this together since I was a little girl.  Unfortunately, while I was in college, she usually did all the work and sent me the tasty result.  But, I'm thankful that we have been able to cook together more.  After all, I credit most of my cooking and baking skills to Grandma.  I'm looking forward to next month's cooking date - homemade applesauce!

I love Grandma!

Isabelle is pretty cute for a cat.
Papa & new barn kitty, Isabelle.

Saturday afternoon/evening was the Hawaiian-themed Anniversary celebration complete with lots of Kaisers and food.  It's amazing to go back to the beginning when it was just my Grandma and Papa.  Fast forward 50 years, and we have multiplied to about 50 family members total (with one more on the way in December)!  Wow - Way to go Grandma and Grandpa!  We are so thankful that Grandma has put up with Papa for so long!  If any of you know my Grandpa Norm, you will understand what I'm talking about.  :)

Kaisers know how to party!

The Golden Couple!

Lovebirds - Papa's look is priceless!

Kiss her Papa!

The Kaiser family.  Matt thinks we look like a football team on the sideline.

The 4 oldest girl cousins.

They still dance even after all these years.

He's thrilled to be wearing a lei and having his picture taken.

Saturday night, I got together with two of my good friends from home.  It was so good to see Theresa and Clare and catch up on life.  We missed Katie though!  I'm so thankful that we have stayed in touch over the years, and we pick right back up where we left off.   I can't wait to see them all in October!

Love these girls!

Yay for friends and all the trouble we caused when we were younger!

Sunday consisted of church, naptime, and the Packer game.  The Green and Gold win was a good end to our weekend in Wisconsin.
