Life As We Know It = Busy!

I created this blog a few weeks ago, and I'm finally getting around to posting something over my lunch break (that's how busy we have been!).  We thought a blog would be a good way of connecting with family and friends who live near and far away, and so you can all keep up in the happenings in the Kramer household.  So welcome to Keeping Up with the Kramers, and thank you for reading our blog.  We love you all so much and miss you lots!

Our summer has been busy!  There just is no other word for it.  From work, to 6 weddings in June and July combined, me (Amanda) getting sick for half the month of July, and just everyday life ... we are ready for fall to arrive.  There's something about the cooler weather, the changing leaves, football, the smells of fall, apple cider, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pie, pumpkin wine, (alright pumpkin anything really) that is relaxing and comforting (even watching the Gilmore Girls seasons on a rainy night)!

But I suppose we're not quite to fall yet so let me back up to summer!  Some of our fun events include our bike rides around Pleasant Lake.  It's a lake in North Oaks (where we live), and it is about a mile away from our house.  There is an awesome trail around the entire lake, and we absolutely love taking bike rides after dinner.  Otherwise, we kayak.  We purchased a double kayak, and we enjoy taking it on our lake - Lake Gilfillan.  Matt and one of our friends, Peter, decided to take it out one evening while I was cooking dinner.  They decided to switch spots in the middle of the lake.  Needless to say, that didn't work out too well for them.  They came in wet from head to toe.  I laughed!  I only wish I had seen it out the window; I'm sure it was a funny sight!  Game nights are common around the Kramer household too.  Ticket to Ride and Settlers of Catan remain our favorites, whether we have friends over to play or just Matt and I playing one on one (mono y mono in Matt's words).

But all in all, our first home is great!  We love it, and our neighborhood completely removes us from the hustle and bustle of city life (it reminds us of back home!), and we are blessed to live where we do.  We love waking up each morning and seeing the lake out our bedroom window.  Just last week, I saw a bald eagle dive for a fish in the lake right outside our bedroom window.  Matt of course missed it because he was still sleeping. haha!  Anyways... pictures to come soon of our home!

In other news...Matt is currently having football withdrawls.  Football started this week at NWC, and when he picked me up from work on Wednesday night (we carpool as much as we can), he happened to see all of the cars parked at Erickson.  They had left for camp, and this was the first time probably since he could walk that he wasn't on the field this time of year.  While I'm looking forward to not having football obligations each week this fall... Matt is making plans to attend a game each week whether it's NWC or the Boise State trip with his friends, he will be no stranger to football thats for sure!
